Over the years, we've worked with many electricians and electrical businesses on a variety of website projects. Our experience has enabled us to create a process that provides a smooth and efficient website project experience. There will be times during your project when we'll need your input and feedback, but we've developed some cool ways to keep things simple and efficient.
To give you an idea of how we work, here is the process we've created for keeping website projects on budget and running smoothly.
We Define Your Goals & Objectives
We start off by digging deep into your business goals and the objectives that you want your website to achieve. We'll ask you lots of questions about your business, your ideal customers, your products, your services and we'll also get into the strengths and weaknesses of your competitors. We want your website to be the best in the electrical business so you can expect to be grilled for all the answers we need to make that happen.
We create the wiring diagram
Once we have a good understanding of your business goals and objectives, we'll start the planning phase of your project. With your feedback, we will create a sitemap that will list all the sections and pages of your website. It's very similar to a wiring diagram as it provides us with the outline and structure we will need to connect everything together.
We Lay Out All The Components
With the planning and "wiring diagram" completed, we will have enough information to start working on some design layouts and page concepts. Rather than trying to explain what we are doing, we'll create a visual mock-up so you can see the design taking shape. We'll discuss what you like and don't like about the design, then head off to create a second mock-up. Once you've approved the design, we'll move onto development phase where we start connecting everything.
We Connect Everything Together
Like pulling cables and terminating wires, the development phase is where all the coding and heavy lifting is carried out. As you provide us with your content and images, we create the code needed to build out all your pages, forms, and other essential website elements. This is where the magic happens, and you will start to see your website take shape. Your website is built on our private development server, but you'll get 24-7 access to see our progress.
We Check Everything And Turn On Power
The Launch phase is our favorite part of the project because we get to step outside, see daylight and smell the rocket fuel. No really, the Launch phase is where we transfer your website to your hosting account, run all our website tests, optimize all your pages for SEO then launch your website into the big wide world. Launching your website into orbit is a big moment for us, so we might have a beer or two to celebrate!
